xTool: What people think about their products

The xTool brand has several models on the market, each with its unique characteristics.
This is what users think about them:

Xtool D1 Pro

A 20-watt diode laser that offers excellent value for its price. The Xtool model is the best value-for-money diode laser engraver, in addition to being one of the most recommended by woodworkers.

Opinion 5/5 😄

he laser is very well built, it goes together easily – holes line up, feels very sturdy. The quality is great. I am surprised how much I’ve fallen in love with this unit. I didn’t expect to enjoy making laser projects so much. Have engraved many pictures on wood, made beautiful finger-joint boxes, and many window ornaments. Be prepared for a steep learning curve but there are so many resources available. XTool’s FaceBook page, YouTube, and Xtool website to name just a few.

Got the unit quickly and it worked right out of the box. Only gripe is they won’t respond to emails. Signed up for their creators club and got sent coupons to use for accessories which constantly come up invalid. Tried the online chat which is kind of a joke since their Bot algorithms must pick up on another language. Don’t know how the word “coupon” equates to “try rebooting the machine”. Overall I think the device is nice, just don’t expect much from their support dept overseas.

Not a huge fan so far. Easy to assemble but a disjointed process to explain how to actually use the laser. There is no manual explaining the different settings or straight forward videos. The company relies heavily on other users to create Youtube videos. Also, there is a software called lightburn that you have to pay for in addition to using it because the basic software the laser comes with isn’t user-friendly.

I’ve been using laser engravers for a few years now, both CO2 and diode, and this is the best so far. The diode laser is pretty flexible with regard to what it can cut and how powerful it is, which is a bit advantage for your average maker, not to mention no glass tubes or cooling systems. The enclosure is exceptionally well-made, and something I can’t stop appreciating is the green cover.

Firstly, I must commend the excellent packaging of this product; everything is securely in place with no movement. The flexibility to use it indoors is a major plus for me, eliminating the need to confine it to my garage. Given that my workshop is indoors, having all my tools in one area is incredibly convenient. Placing it on a table near a window allows me to easily direct the smoke exhaust pipe outside.

Xtool is going to send me parts to swap out to fix my Xtool. This is great because I really want to buy the riser, the rotary, and possibly yes even the track feeder and will need these USB ports working. I’m kicking myself a bit for not getting the 40w unit to be honest because I really would like to cut through some thicker pine to make ornate book shelf holders. When I use my 20w with more passes

Opinion 5/5 😄

I’ve been using the xTool P2 for more than four months, putting it through numerous tests and projects to see how this powerful 55-watt CO2 laser performs and does it live up to the hype. I am not disappointed one bit. The xTool P2 is large premium laser machine that offers many excellent features for small crafters to a procrafter. The unit is extremely sturdy, has dual cameras for automatic settings & positioning of materials, ability to engrave curved objects..

Opinion 5/5 😄

From home crafting projects to small business custom jobs the P2 has the versatility to do it all. I previously purchased the M1 and while I loved that machine, I needed something that could fit bigger pieces (like cutting boards) and something that could get the job done faster. The P2 can do both. I am impressed with the workspace but also the way you can make even more space with the riser. With the fisheye camara you no longer have to worry about framing and if you get the air filter like you.

Opinion 3/5 😕

One notable aspect of this laser system is its unique control format. Unlike many other systems that adhere to the GRBL standard, this one operates on what seems to be a proprietary system. This is somewhat akin to the difference between Apple and Android ecosystems. The primary control is through the brand’s own software, which, while straightforward and capable of basic designs, has its limitations and is, in many areas, somewhat buggy.

I’ve been playing around with this ever since it arrived. Was supposed to be a Sunday delivery and it took til Tuesday night with the annoying delays. Happy with the laser. It’s my first laser. The software is easy to learn, the material testing is a must for beginners, it is included in the software so don’t go spending money on etsy selling material testing files. Just go to the mode you want to do and insert an array and select material testing.

I’ve been looking at lasers for awhile as a way to join my wife at craft shows with something of my own. I have a 3d printer but the final product can take hours and hours – enter the xtool f1. It’s small enough to be portable and super versatile with 2 different lasers for different materials. Testing different materials has been fun and learning the software keeps providing more options. I’ve done knife blades/handles, coins, cut some wooden earrings, etched on stone coasters save some leather.

Opinion 1/5 😡

Product box came with some damage when I opened it from the large Amazon box it came in. Product is very well padded inside but you pay over $1500 for an item you expect it to arrive in pristine condition inside and out. Also there was no mention that the machine wouldn’t come with all the necessary cables. I have the Rotary RA2 attachment for my D1 pro and the cable for that doesn’t fit this machine…
