I’ve had it for a little over a year now and it’s got some great features. I’ve used it on wood, cork, even some metal projects. The metal only really works if it has a coating over it that you etch away to reveal the metal underneath. It’s just not a powerful enough laser for really etching into the metal. I used it on coated tumblers with stainless steel under and it worked great, just make sure you use the roller with the tumbler otherwise the sides of your image may not work. All the other materials I’ve used it on work great though.

You need a smart phone to operate the LaserPecker 2, it is limited use will not engrave any reflective metal,
but it’s perfect for anything else. I’m having fun with it. Like welding, charts have been created for settings. There are little operating instructions, and no chart setting, except those build in to the software, and you have to tweek it in, and get the best settings, Power level, debt, and number of passes. Always be careful to preview because it can go way off mark, and surprise you!
Engraved plastic lid, filled in with glue using a toothpick, and covered with gold sprinkles.

The LP2 is a vast improvement over the LP1. Much, much faster, more powerful but all the high-tech goodies are seriously hampered by the software, both the phone based and especially the PC based version. I hate having to give this only a 3-star rating because the hardware is much better than that. But the device is only as good as the software that runs it, and in the software is seriously lacking.
